The Institute is a residential institution and all students are normally required to stay in the Hostels. The Director may, however, permit a few of them to reside outside the hostel in special circumstances. There is accommodation for about 1400 male students in seven men's hostels including a PG hostel. The Ladies Hostel has accommodation for about 350 students which includes a new hostel with 150 single rooms. A men's hostel for PG students with capacity of 120 and another for UG students to accommodate 220 are nearing completion. The contact phone numbers are as follows.
