PSG College of Technology has an independent Placement Office devoted to cater to the needs of organisations in conducting campus interviews for placements. It is headed by a Professor designated as Placement Officer with additional charge and he is supported by a full time permanent placement Co-ordinator. The office is also assisted by student placement Co-ordinators who lead a team of placement representatives from various courses of study. The Placement Office ensures and takes care to provide the best arrangements and hospitality for the visiting companies' officials.

The Placement Office, functions in a separate air conditioned block with all audio visual facilities for PPT, written test, group discussion and interviews and has rapidly progressed over the years in enhancing the placement potential effectively. It plays a very important and key role in counselling and guiding the students of the college for their successful career placement which is crucial interface for the students between the stages of completion of academic programme of studies and entry into the suitable employment. This Office also coordinates various activities related to the career of the students along with the industrial training.

More than 90 reputed national and multinational companies visit PSG Tech for campus recruitment annually. Over 90% of the students secure job offers before they complete their programme of studies and leave the college.

PSG College of Technology is ranked one among the top ten (based on year 2000 records) national level technical institutes, in terms of number of students receiving placement offers from reputed organisations from all over the country.

The computerisation of the entire activities of the placement Office is in progress and this facility will be available to the organisations soon for easy and faster communication.

• Companies are invited to the college by the Placement Officer.

• To the responding companies, the details of the final year students opting for placement are sent as per their requirement.

• The company is assigned a convenient date.

• After confirmation by the company, a pre-placement talk is arranged on the date.

• The company conducts test and/or group discussion to short list the interested students.

• The short listed students are then interviewed for final selection by the company.

• The result is usually announced on the same day.
