Academy of Management Studies (AMS) is managed by Dayanand Shiksha Sansthan, UP, Kanpur based trust . This trust manages near by 23 colleges in entire U.P. and Uttaranchal and Academy of Management Studies which provides management and other technical courses is only one of its kind of colleges managed by this trust in Dehradun, Uttaranchal.It is the oldest management college of the region formerly known as “Dr. Virendra Swarup Memorial Institute of Management”

Academy of Management Studies was founded in the year 1993 and it got approval by AICTE in the year 1994.

The Academy is continuously progressing every year and achieving excellence in all the sphere of education. The Academy has a proud privilege that it is managed by Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania and Mr. Jagendra Swarup. Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania is an eminent industrialist who is a Vice-Chairman of J.K Group of Industries and Mr. Jagendra Swarup is a MLC of U.P. Legislative for the past twenty four years and is a General Secretary of Dayanand Shiksha Sansthan and is a able administrator and eminent lawyer.

The Academy of Management is running following courses:
1. Two years full time PGDBA (Approved by AICTE)
2. Three years MCA courses (Affiliated to Garhwal University)
3. Three years BBA & BCA courses (Affiliated to Garhwal University)
4. One year PGDMSM (Recognised by Uttaranchal Government)

Academy is located at Nanda-Ki-Chowki, Premnagar which has a total area of 8.70 acre. AMS is operating from its own fully developed campus .The lush greenery in and around the campus is a perfect setting for pursuit of education in pollution free atmosphere of the city. The campus is equipped with all infrastructure facilities required for the facilitation of various programmes offered by the Academy.

Academy has an excellent reputation in the field of management and computer education and has been accorded approval by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar and Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Uttaranchal. It has developed close linkages with leading industrial houses in the country and business organizations and enlisted active support of practicing executives, academicians and management professionals and consultants. The inputs are designed as per industry requirement and delivered by professionals to the management graduates. The industry has accepted its students in various challenging jobs and summer assignments.

AMS has distinguished faculty including those who have studied and worked abroad. The institute is headed by Dr. A.K. Das, the well-known educationist of this region. The visiting faculty includes wellknown educationists of India. The main features are as follows :
