UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY

THE COLLEGE: Idyllically situated in the serene locales of the spellbinding shivaliks, G.B. P.E.C is one of the few premier government institutions imparting technical education in the state of Uttaranchal. The college has a firm commitment to groom highly skilled technoyouths, who are able to compete with the best in the global arena. The college is situated at Pauri (the divisional headquarters of Garhwal) at the height of 1700 metres above sea level. The college campus can be reached comfortably from New Delhi to Hardwar by rail/road (about 4 hours journey) or from New Delhi to Dehradun by air and then by road via Devprayag (about 130 Km.)

Evolution: The college was established in 1990 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh with a view to fulfill the ever-growing demand for well-trained professionals. The college is affiliated to H. N. B. Garhwal University, Srinagar-Garhwal. Making a modest beginning by offering degree course in Electronics and Communication Engineering the college has emerged as a leading institution offering degree courses in a wide range of highly sought after branches:
i. Electronics and Communication Engineering
ii. Computer Science and Engineering
iii. Electrical Engineering iv. Mechanical Engineering
v. Master of Computer Applications

CAMPUS: The institute campus situated 12 kms from Pauri city is an example of modern architecture which has been designed and is continually evolving to suit the emerging and future needs of an educational institution. The campus spreads over 169 acres constituting of different blocks of each department. The college houses full time faculty as well as providing lecture theatres, library with Audio-Video facilities, Conference Hall, hostel facilities, adminis-trative block,WorkshopComplex, Computer Centre, Guest House-Complex, Auditorium and Gymnasium.

CENTRAL FACILITIES:

LIBRARY: The central library is well stocked with the latest books on Engineering, Management and ancillary areas of the various Indian and foreign publication. It has also installed computerized catalogues to speed up the search and access of books and information by the students. The library also subscribes to a number of magazines, International Engg, Technology and Science journals [India (30), foreign (25)] like IEEE, IETE, ISTE, and many others. A separate Centre for Educational Technology with Audio-Video and multimedia facilities is being set-up soon in the central library. INTERNET A well-equipped internet lab with 40 nodes is open to the students of the department round the clock, connected through a VSAT–TDMA link of 64 kbps along with a separate broadband link. The department owns its own FTP server which provides useful educational software’s and tutorials on demand at ftp://gbpec.ren.nic.in.
