The University (VIT) considers placement and training as its core duty to every student who enters its portals. With this obligation in mind, the Placement and Training (PAT) Centre has been set up.

VIT had signed an MoU with Infosys Technologies Ltd., Bangalore under Infosys Campus Connect Programme to train the Non IT students and is currently running this programme.

VIT has been Accredited by companies like Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Larsen and Toubro(L&T), Satyam Computers, Honeywell Technologies etc.,

Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) had instituted “Best Outgoing Student” award for an IT student every year which carries Rs.10000 cash award and a gold medal. This honour has been given only to few reputed institutions in India of which, VIT is one among them.

Objectives

• To organise campus interviews for pre-final and final year students with industries and business houses of repute from all over India and prepare them to face such interviews by arranging training in Aptitude tests, group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews.

• To promote career counselling by organising guidance lectures by senior corporate personnel and most importantly by the immediately placed senior students.

Special Features

• One of the main responsibilities of the PAT Centre is to motivate and prepare students for successful performance at interviews and subsequent interaction with employers. The students have formal and informal discussions regularly with the PAT staff regarding their future plans. They are trained to prepare effective resume and are advised to follow decorum and deportment and develop communication skills.

• Many books are available in the College Library to help students prepare for interviews and entrance examination. Quiz programmes are conducted to sharpen general awareness levels. Video sessions on interviews, group discussions etc are also conducted.

• The PAT Centre arranges presentation on higher education with the help of the British Council, IDP Education Australia and United States Education Foundation in India, Chennai and many Universities from US, Canada, Germany, UK, Australia etc.,

Arranging interviews (on and off campus) to the students is the core business of the PAT Centre and to achieve this objective, the PAT Centre is constantly in touch with prospective employers to ensure that they seriously consider VIT students whenever the companies have career opportunities.

VIT has topped the Campus Placements in the past 3 years in private sector in Tamil Nadu.

The Defense Services are among those who have regularly recruited VIT students through the PAT Centre. Many reputed companies (listed below) regularly visit our campus and recruit the students. Our alumni who work in these organisations do contribute their mite to the success of our efforts.
